‘LOVE INFECTION’...... Love is not in air, it is in hearts

Love Infection
Are you a teenager? Do you suffer from sleepless nights and dreamy days? Do you feel anxious, over-excited and bouncy like a crazy ball, as never before? Does your heart palpitate with an uncontrollable speed of two hundred beats/min, leaving behind Michael Schumacher in the F1 Grand Prix? Have you become over-cautious about your looks and feel that you are no less than Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt? If yes, then surely, you are suffering from a serious chronic heart disease called –‘Love infection’. Well, the roots of this horrendous disease are still undiscovered by love-scientists like me but according to some, popularly known as the ‘Love-Gurus’, they have explicitly explored this research area of fantasy and hallucination. Mind it friend, it is a serious cardiac illness and needs an immediate parental or elderly diagnosis to get cured. Today, ‘Love, breakup and makeup’ stands as the hot, hotter and in fact the hottest agenda concerning every teenager. People say that those who fall in ‘love’ are lucky, but I say that those who don’t are ‘born lucky’. The latter should thank God for they are still alive and saved from the world’s deadliest syndrome –‘Love Infection’, caused due to a distinctive creature on this planet called- ‘girl’.
Well, I am not chauvinistic in my approach but I am a girl-fearing man……..sorry a God-fearing man. I have no plans to lie down on a Love-Ventilator machine and breathe love airs to survive. Recently, one of the politicians gave a historical statement, proposing to start a Ministry of Love Affairs in India. Though, this guy was particularly inclined at tarnishing the image of his opposition leader in an ironical chic, but I think he wasn’t wrong either. When 99.99% of teenagers in India, love to ‘love’ deliberately, why not have a ministry pertaining to this portfolio. It will make ‘love’ even better, bigger and above all- a political affair. It won’t be surprising then, to see a ‘Love Lokpal Bill’ being passed by the Government without making any amendments in the original draft. Splendid idea! All affairs, including Love-affairs will become ‘political affairs’. Ironically, there is not even an iota of doubt that -‘love’, is what is really lacking in the Indian polity today……..........

We have made ‘love’ a necessity, an obsession and nothing more than an illusion.
But love is not in air, it is in hearts and this is what we need to understand.

In this era of 21st century, by default, the two things which every teenager has or rather should have is firstly, a girlfriend and secondly, a cell-phone. Fortunately or unfortunately those who belong to my category, and don’t have either of these, are cordially invited to form an Anti-Love Party (ALP) to curb this deadly menace. Interestingly, on our recent visit to one of the leading schools here in Chennai, the Principal of the school seemed so very perturbed with the issue of ‘Love-mania’ concerning the students that she wanted our social awareness programme to focus more on a boy-girl relationship. The major characteristic concerning this disease is that it is communicable in nature. So please; do put on your anti-love masks whenever you find someone infected. It is like the tug of war, no matter how much one strives to hold back one’s inner self; he only gets drowned more and more into it.
‘Desperate’- this is the exact word which fits each teenager. Not having a bike or a car- desperate to have one, not having an Apple iphone- desperate to have one, not having a credit card- desperate to have one and of course not having a girlfriend- desperate to have not only one but many. I often ask some Love Gurus, “Why do you love her? /what makes you admire her so much? /what is so very special in her that you talk with her for hours?” Most of the times the answers I get are, “It is just a ‘Time-pass’, dude/ Just for fun /She is beautiful, buddy /She is hot and exotic…etc…. etc”. Ridiculous! You love someone because you want to pass your time….. You love someone only because you think 'that someone' to be nothing more than a tool to exercise your enticements and desires. You love someone because you find someone’s physical appearance ‘hot’ and ‘tempting’. If this is the case then, this is not ‘love’ buddy; this is ‘lust’ and an ‘illusion’. I firmly believe that if a boy jilts with a girl just for the sake of fulfilling his bodily urge and enticements, he is unworthy of being loved by her.
Love is not in air, it is in hearts

The intricate mysteries of ‘love’ are far away from the comprehension of my mental capabilities but they can be easily experienced by my soul. Surely what is a handicap for our mind, it is a child’s play for our hearts to understand and realize. Love is never meant to be understood, it has always been framed to be felt by one’s soul and dealt with delicacy by the mind. Often the mental and emotional conflicts lead to different deductions about it but in my context love is never an outcome of deductions. It is an outcome of emotions. It is the knowledge of heart not the knowledge of brain. Love is life.  Love is eternal. Whenever you close your eyes, you find that individual standing next to you. Even her absence marks way for her presence every time and everywhere within you. You discover her existence in every thought you think, in every action that you do, in each word that you speak and in every breath that you breathe. Every morning when you wake up, her imagination swings your heart and you see her in every smile that you make. She is a synonym for happiness, joy and delight. To put her in words seems injustice to you. She is boundless and can never be curtailed within the limits of alphabets. She stands as your reflection, your mirror image, as your own self. Her name is another name for you. Oftentimes when you fail in your tasks; you see her in every fraction of support and confidence that revives you back to glory. She is your sea-shore, your airport. She is your imagination, intellect and your inner soul. The way your heart beats, symbolises her togetherness at all times. This is what I call –‘Love’.
Love is not in air, it is in hearts.

Thanks to all those who have made me realize, sensitize and above all experience ‘love’ in its true nature.
For you my loving brother, Rajat, who loves the modern style of writing
