Indian Perceptions Vs Reality

Delhi really shocked me. I was having a wrong perception about my mother India. We are made to believe that our country provides us fundamental rights, some rights which no one can snatch from us. . India is a country where every individual has equal rights to cherish. Unfortunately all rights are hypothetical.  It’s really heart pricking to see the dark side of India, the India for which I no longer feel proud of. Which are the rights we are talking about? A girl who is not safe in the capital city itself, what can we expect from the whole country collectively? It’s the time we should understand that rather being proud of our country we should make efforts so that there is something in real for which we can actually be proud of. If you check out the number of rape cases annually in India you will be shocked to know that the frequency is really high. After every 18 minutes a girl is raped in India. We are living in hypo critic atmosphere where we talk about women empowerment but when it comes to formulation of some strict laws we stay mum.

The present hour is the hour of change. The laws should be reformulated and strict actions must be taken against the rapists so that such horrendous incidents are ruled out from the society. “Crimes will  eliminate only when crimes are prevented.” The soul which has departed has left India with some serious questions, is India safe? Are our sisters or daughters safe? The whole country is bewildered and in grief. India’s daughter is no more. But her death has made us ponder upon some serious problems which need a speedy remedy. The trauma, the girl has undergone is beyond description. Girls are Gods wonderful creations who are to be revered. They have the gift to give life, not suffer pain. We should work for making some strict and effective laws. It’s so shocking to see some politicians trying to amplify there political positions in the society. Understand “The Voice of India”! Do something to keep India united rather than being a barrier between the government and public at this critical moment. None of us know anything about the girl but still feels like she is very close to us. In fact it is true, she was one of us. The girl has not left us but is alive in the hearts of the masses. She will always be with us not physically but emotionally. She has lighted the candle of “change” and the need is to keep that candle ignited forever.

It is the time to change our mentality, our ways and our perceptions. Its only then, when we can change the system.
